It's nice to see pictures from the southern end of the U.P. (i.e. Mackinaw City). Being way up here in the Keewenaw I haven't seen much in the way of the sites and sounds of the Straits. As a kid growing up my family and I always went to Mackinaw City for our vacations so thanks to all the guest shots from the Mighty Mac and the surronding areas. Speaking of which, it'd be really cool to see a picture of the Mighty Mac. So if one of you guys could get a shot sometime it'd be cool. Thanks in advance.

The Pasty Cam has made several visits to Mighty Mac during the past 3 years. From the Archives:

The two dressed in period clothing in the upper left picture are my brother and sister, taking time out from an encampent with the French Marines of Green Bay maybe two years ago. She is now a college freshman in Ontario; he is finishing 11th grade. Time flies....

This is one of the main trails leading back to the wilderness cabin we stayed at over that January weekend. Snow conditions were pretty poor for skiing actually, but we still had a real nice time. Missed the night's snowfall of past years, that would cover all the trees in a fresh winter's blanket.

This scene reminds me of the Sierra Club book....
"Walking Softly in the Wilderness."
