The regular contributing trio of Steve Brimm, Dan Urbanski, and Jon Hopper make the Pasty-Cam one of the most beautiful and exciting sites on the web. A place as beautiful as the UP is difficult to capture in an image. To do it right takes a very special talent. These artists have the talent. We are fortunate to receive the benefit of their work. I hope all of the regular viewers of this site feel the same way. We need to let them know how appreciative we are of sharing their gift of seeing and capturing the beauty of the UP with us.

We've had exactly the same tree-branch phenomenon on our trees the past few days here in Minneapolis/St. Paul. Not too surprising since our weathercasters have been satellite-photo showing us daily this larger weather system that stretched from Montana to Nova Scotia.
The weather, man, isn't it an awesome thing?
But this latest doppler-spread was really something else!

David of St. Louis says my sentiments exactly. I turn to this site every day and just marvel at the beauty that surrounds you. And it is an art to capture all that beauty with a camera. I lived in Laurium for the first 20 years of my life and my heart is still up there after being gone for many years. We visit each summer and soak in the beauty. Keep up the great work.

Here in the Detroit area, what little snow we had is melting after a mild January. Nice to know there's still someplace I can see REAL snow!!

ok, David/St Louis started it so i, too, will join in with thanks(!) to all the photographers who contribute to the enjoyment of our unique little "club". Hi to all the "members" and lets all hope this daily treat continues for many years to come. Yes, I do visit the UP each year and with PastyCam, I don't have to wonder what it's like in winter. Thanks again and condolences to the families of the folks who have departed. They were very fortunate people.......

I just found your web site three days ago and have been on here constantly exploring all the great things. I have looked at every pastycam photo and am so happy that you are providing these great pictures. As has been stated here before, it is the next best thing to being in the UP. I already ordered three pastys too.I think this will grow into something huge and hope it will last forever. The best part is that all the activities on your webpage will benefit the folds at Still Waters. I've already recommended your site to a couple friends of mine, one in Oregon and one in California. Thanks for everything.

Ditto to all the above .... I check the site everyday and I can't decide if it makes me completely homesick or makes me feel closer to home. Either way, it makes me happy! Plus, thanks to the bridge and harbor cams, I know what kind of weather my friends are experiencing and what our property looks like. I clicked on the harbor cam today and had to laugh -- yesterday the water was nearly open and today, it's packed in again. Thrills a minute! (Gotta admit ... we're a simple group; doesn't take much to make us happy!) Thanks to all the great photographers who make the site possible. Steve, I keep checking your site everyday, waiting for the "coming soon" to disappear and the real stuff to materialize ... my 10 year old daughter personally picked out and bought one of your big photos at the Eagle Harbor fair last summer, and it's framed & hanging over her dresser.

We sometimes see the snow on the branch thing downstate, but it's not often. Very pretty.

I think I snowshoed this trail years ago and
performed a header in the deeeeep snow.
What a joy to right myself! And all the while
friends clicked their cameras. I still hear
stories of that hike some 25 years later.
Thanks for triggering those memories. Now
we are in St. Paul and snow shoeing is a joke,
but I still have those long Michigan snow
shoes, the ones with real wood and real
leather. They belonged to my grandfather.

This has got to be overlooking the north end of Lake Fanny Ho. Am I right or wrong?
Sure enjoy the view in summer and autumn.

Brrrrrrr It makes me cold looking at it :-) So glad it's up there and not here. Love to see pictures but that's about it. Was born and raised in the UP and I sure don't miss this at all. I know I'm one of the crazy ones :-)
