Wish we could capture a time-lapse of this corner during the next few weeks. We'll certainly try to drop in and check the progress.

If you know of any Internet sites with additional pictures of the Winter Carnival, we welcome you to post the links here.

Brrrrr - that brings back thoughts of cold nights, loud music and lots of Boones Farm.

Go Delt Sigs!

Those snow sculptures at Tech are always magnificent as far back as I can remember.....even in the 50's they were great. I really hope you keep up with them on the Cam. I don't miss all the snow but it sure is nice to see the scenes from my teen years.

I must have walked up and down that stairwell from the 5th floor to those double doors at the lower left hand of Jon's picture a thousand times my freshman year at Tech in the daily back and forth from classes. Looking forward to seeing the final version of this ice statue!

Does anyone know if the 50's era bomb shelters still in the basement of Wadsworth Hall?

By Gina, Michigan on Wednesday, January 24, 2001 - 10:13 pm:

The view just beyond this statue in progress, of West Wadsworth, is exactly what I used to see from my window in Smith House, the girls' dorm, in the late 50's. That was a lovely old building that stood just where the statue is being constructed! Thanks for the daily updates.

Amen to that Gina. Were you in my class? 61?
Too bad they tore down that beautiful house. It stood where the statue does now.

Of all the things I remember from the U.P. How could I forget about the snow sculptures? Thanks for reminding me.
