You probably have driven past this sign. It may have looked quite different (green grass, gentle breeze off the Lake, warm sunshine). Here's a hint: it's not in the Copper Country. Any ideas?

I'll guess Ontonagon because the sign looks familiar and it's a place where I like to be.

My guess would be the beach across the road from Baraga State Park campground.

I guess North of Bishop Baraga.

How about across the highway (US 41) from the Baraga State Park Campground? A little farther north from there you can have a great meal at Carla's Lakeshore Inn!

i would like to add that many of these people are CLUELESS, all of your guesses are not in the copper country! so its gotta be pretty far up North.

Okay, here's one way off ... The Dunes State Park in Indiana.

I agree with Dan from Fenton, Au Train Bay. That is my favorite part of the drive from here to the Keewenaw.

I beleive it is between Gay and Lac La Belle, north of Brunette Park. Maybe Point Isabella or Oliver Bay.

So much fun to see that my picture made people think of so many special places. How much we all love our beautiful Lake Superior. I, too, love the beach at AuTrain, and had many and many a picnic at Baraga when I was a youngster (even in the winter), but this shot was taken in the parking lot of the Marquette Visitor's Center in south Marquette--10 AM Sunday, Jan. 7. Not the Copper Country, but still Yooper territory, with plenty of wonderful pasties available.

I like snow, but not here in Germany - FM Michigander.

Glad to find out where it is, I also thought that it was between Esky and Menominee near Fuller Park.

Makes the 20.5 inches here in TX look a little meager.

Looks like the mouth of the AuTrain River between Marquette and Munising.
