A couple of years ago I tried to capture a moon-set like this (see Keweenaw Moon) but it eluded me. Dan Urbanski finally delivered the scene I wanted (though there wasn't as much ice as I recall.)

A beautiful full moon it was last night, and I understand parts of Europe and Africa were treated to a Lunar Eclipse. It would have been nice to pop over to Africa just to see the moon - but I must say... I'm glad to be watching her right here in the U.P.

Thank you for sharing such a beautiful picture of the Copper Country.Having moved to the West Coast twenty-two years ago to escape the cold weather and snow, I've almost forgotten what beauty there is in it. Thanks Again!!!!

What a great photo Dan. I grew up in the UP and love seeing the Great Lakes. Enjoy looking at all the photos on this site and tell others I know about it. I also mention pasties to people and they always ask me what they are. They don't know what they are missing.

Now we know why that wolf was out on the ice.

Thanks for the great shot, Dan. I can appreciate it from 3,000 miles away in warm(er) California. After only 2 months away, I like looking at the snapshots, but I don't miss having to shovel any of it!
