Another month has come to a close, another chance to fondly remember those that have passed on before us, honored by a lovely setting sun over Freda.

Reino Erkkila
Greg Hakala
Kevin Hamlin
Russell 'Rusty' Hellman

We also remember the men and women who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our nation. As is the custom for our memorial page, feel free to add someone near and dear to you.

By Keith, Kansas on Wednesday, June 30, 2004 - 08:07 am:

Mary, on a personal level, this means a lot to me that you have my photograph out here today. My grandmother, Elizabeth Sillanpaa Nurmi Rengo, was taken off of life support and moved to a hospice in New Port Richey, Florida yesterday afternoon. After enjoying excellent health for 94 years, she had a stroke three weeks ago and had an additional setback this past Sunday. She is someone who had a tremendous impact on my life and how I approach the world, as well as inspiring my appreciation for my Finnish heritage as well as the U.P. I hope she is in a lot of people's thoughts today.

By Lost Spirit and Souls of the Keweenaw on Wednesday, June 30, 2004 - 08:50 am:

"Andy", "Sluggo", Paulie, Roger, Mels, and Ray. The Island isn't the same without em'. They all saw the Keweenaw changing. They all saw many familiar faces leaving town; Many friends left this world on their feet, many left lying down. Either way none of 'em ever came back around. None of em', that I know of, ever judged others the way that others often judge others. But they, like many of the rest of us, always felt, and still feel, the pains of change.
