Ok, I know some of you peeked, so I might as well just say where this lighthouse is. It's in Manistique, on Lake Michigan, another of the Great Lakes that touch our beautiful U.P. beaches. Michael Lane took this photo from the east boardwalk. The ice is starting to form on our lakes now.....no turning back, because winter is here. Too bad Old Man Winter didn't take a look at the Pasty Cam calendar to see that winter doesn't really start until Dec. 22nd.

I wonder if this light, lost power last week when the lights went out for about four hours, from just north of Green Bay, WI, to just west of Manistique? :->

I grew up in Manistique, so as soon as I saw the lighthouse knew it was from there. It was good to see a photo from my hometown. I was back visiting there in Oct., and took the nice walk along the lake. There is a bench across from where the car ferries use to come in that is dedicated to my uncle who use to work on the ferries. Glad to see a photo from the Manistique area. I collect lighthouses, and definitely have this one in my collection.

The first time I saw the lighthouse was on our honeymoon and my husband decided to walk out there when the waves were pretty high. I took his wallet and car keys in case he fell in, which he didn't. How romantic. Anyway, we've since bought a house on the lake and can see our beacon every night. It's a real beauty. Thanks for showing everyone our lighthouse.

Right now, it doesn't look very inviting to me.

Beautiful & gentle Lake Michigan...got to love it!!......was this photo taken this year??? We have no snow in Escanaba and we are about 50 miles west of Manistique..what a difference!!

Does anyone have information on a lighthouse tour in the UP Michigan area? I would be be interested in hearing about it.

This is off the subject but does anyone else think it would be beautiful to have some Christmas lights on the bridge and maybe on some of the water side businesses. I think it would be spectacular!!!

Sailed past that lighthouse and up the river to a quiet little marina many times while sailing our sloop Butterfly around Green Bay and Lake Michigan. Looked more inviting in warm weather! Great memories!!!

HEY thats not fair ! Send us some of that beautiful snow downstate ! We want to ski !!!!!!!!!!! We love the snow down here !

We don't have much snow here today and it was even drizzling rain this evening....Winter will be here soon enough. Fran GA. if you are refering to the Lift Bridge there are some lights on the old power house building at the Houghton side of the bridge, just to the right at the end of the bridge. The rest of the lights are kind of hard to see. On the other side of the bridge is just a bar and the parking deck...no lights there.

Why of course it's da lighthouse in manistique!!! Just a stones throw from us, ay? Got me a wife from dat place and she's still with me. Nutt'n more romamtic den da sunset or sunrise dare. Unless ya count fish'n an hunt'n wit da wife.

I didn't guess right. I'm a Yooper wannabe anyway. My husband has all the ties to it. Still shoulda got it. I've gone past it so many times. Pretty to see it in the winter. I've only gone up once in the winter (it WAS gorgeous!).
