I just love the perspective of an aerial photo, especially the super Skypixs shots which Rick Anderson sends our way. He just happened to have a lofty view of yesterday's subject, a place where many folks begin or conclude their U.P. vacation. Thanks to all the contributors for making it a very pleasant and interesting "vacation week" here at the Pasty Cam.

And don't forget, if you're in the Copper Country today, be sure to catch the fun at Heritage Days in Calumet. Looks like a beautiful day for it.

To quote the kid from the Lil' Rascals;

"Re-MARK-able!"

I just love these shots, too!

Always enjoy the perspective of the skypixs
never a bad one always very good. ;-) Also
my section in west Dearborn must have been
the last to be turned back on at 8:30am today.
Better late than never...

I have to say, that's a very interesting location for a swimming pool!

By Alice, Ventura, CA on Saturday, August 16, 2003 - 09:30 pm:

ck, chassell-you are right! Does anyone know if it is a public or private pool?

Peter, where in West Dearborn? My sister lives off Rotunda Drive not far from Ford Engineering.

I just went back in and looked at the nominations for the calendar again! Boy, I would find it hard to narrow it down to 12. There really are some good ones there!

Is that a working lighthouse yet? Sure is pretty. I guess many of us are partial to lighthouses. Mimi and I went to Crystal Falls today for their Finnish Heritage Day. Was a nice time. The first annual.

By Rich, SW Michigan on Sunday, August 17, 2003 - 12:20 am:

The pool in the picture belongs to a motel (I only know this because I stayed there one time). It's a neat location because just to the west is the Mackinac (or is it Mackinaw ?) Bridge.

It's Mackinaw City
Mackinac Bridge
Mackinac Island

We will be there first weekend in October!! Cant wait! After a couple of days with no power and water it will be a welcomed trip. Will be much happier when I am there and dont have to boil water!!

Troll diva,Ferndale:
I'm a Troll diva too from Fabulous Ferndale and was never so glad to get power on Friday at 7:00 PM. I guess we never know how much we depend on the stuff!! Also affected the cruise in Ferndale. Crowd level was very low on Saturday.

By Troll Diva, Ferndale,MI on Monday, August 18, 2003 - 11:42 am:

Wow 2 troll diva's from Ferndale! Got to agree with ya that the cruise was pretty uneventful this year. I feel bad for the merchants, many of them depend on it to carry them through the year. We only went for about an hour, it was just to hot.

Troll Diva 1,Ferndale:
Yes, it was hot. We stayed under the Elks tent during the 2 rain storms then headed "out of Dodge"! Sneakers Pub is our hang-out mostly.
