Although this week's Gallery spotlight is on Crystal Falls, we take time out to send best wishes to Bryan and Becky Howard, who left Hancock this morning bound for Utah. Becky has served for some time as the "pasty girl", the voice you probably heard if you've ordered by our toll-free number in recent years. Bryan is pursuing his graduate work at the University in Salt Lake City. If you have followed the Pasty Cam for a while you may recall Bryan and Becky's wedding in Calumet, which appeared on these pages back in December of 2000. In today's shot, they are visiting with Ernie and Edith Niederer on the deck of the Keweenaw Star. The Niederer's are on our board of directors at Pasty.net, Inc., and Mrs. Niederer also serves on the Finlandia University board.

We will miss Becky in her role with the day-to-day activities here at Pasty Central, where Debra Potter of Copper City has joined the staff to take over her work. And Edie and I will especially miss Bryan and Becky because - she's our daughter. They are looking forward to the day when they can return to the U.P... and so are we.

I'm disappointed that I was not able to say "see ya" to Becky and Brian. But I wish them well and a speedy return. Well, as speedy as can be expected. If they read this then consider this my farewell and here's a hug for (((becky))) and a hand shake for Brian (just use your imagination. I can't find the symbols that could represnet a hand shake.)

I wonder if anyone out there has the link to the site with the Satellite views of the Keweenaw Peninsula?? They were quite good. Not the Terra Server site.

Did anyone get pictures from the Ojibway Pow Wow in Baraga this week? How about a spotlight on that fabulous ceremony??? Thanks eh!

I've never met Becky or Brian, but best of luck to them both and to Charlie and Edie too, having them move so far from home is tough on Mom and Dad!

BUT, there are direct flights from Minn/St Paul to SLC, Utah. That is how I get my yearly Keweenaw fix! Glad they picked U of Utah. Great school and fine location. They will be spoiled by the "little bit" of snow in town. And, be ever so close to the Mountains. Enjoy, Becky and Brian!
There are lots of us in the Intermountain West that talk funny (long o's and such), and have Keweenaw roots. I live and work in Pocatello ID which is 2.5 hours north of the airport.
