Toivo, finally on the road again on Saturday, July 19, 2003 - 02:57 am:

Guess it's time to fininsh the North American tour. Friday was a glorious day to travel east across the U.P. - - just so I can go west through Canada from the Soo. Always like to take a lap around Presque Isle when passing through Marquette.

Will try to keep up reports on the way up to Alaska. Don't know if I'll always be able to connect. This morning, here's what's outside of my window.

Come back on Monday to see the new line of T-shirts.

Hi Toivo-

Good to hear from you again! Have a great trip and keep us informed of all that you see and do.

By Frank, St. Charles IL on Saturday, July 19, 2003 - 10:28 am:

While our trip is nothing as cool as Toivo's, we're coming up tomorrow for a week...going to take kayaking lessons in Copper Harbor and then off to Grand Marais (the eastern side of Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore) for more scenery, relaxation, and maybe a lil' more kayaking.

Wheeeeeee!

Drive safely, Toivo. You got a co-pilot or are you alone? ;-)

Very nice photo, Lyn. It's a nice view from a great place to be. I'll have to pretend for now.

Frank, be sure to bring a camera on your trip. I'd like to see photos of the Pictured Rocks from the perspective of the kayak. If you don't have a digital camera that would be waterproof, get one of those disposable cameras and have them put the photos on CD when you get them processed!

What a beautiful picture! Thank you! Real soon we'll be leaving our paradise on the Pacific for a vacation at our paradise on Superior. Are we ready for pasties and saunas and all the UP delights? Yes!!

Here are a couple of shots from yesterday afternoon at the All School Reunion in Calumet.

Honor Guard

This was right after the presentation of the distinguished Alumni awards. There have been some very notable achievements by folks from Calumet over the years.

It was a beautiful sunny day. Several of the Alumni stopped by Still Waters to say hello. Thanks to Matt Monte for the pictures. For anyone who might be interested, he also video taped the awards program.

Frank --

Toivo will be driving in his Finnmoble. That's all the company he needs.
