This month's memorial includes some former residents of Still Waters and friends of the Copper Country:

Richard Brooks
Ernie Murphy
Millicent Nadeau
Carl Vertin
James Vivian, Sr.

...and you are welcome, as always, to add names to the list.

Just a side note about Ernie Murphy. He was a personal friend, the man from whom my wife and I bought our first home in Wayne, Michigan, and a friend over the years, keeping in touch after we moved to the U.P. Always offering encouragement, Ernie was helpful in recent years supporting our work on this site and at Still Waters. He will always be remembered.

Kathryn Clark walked into God's loving arms
on May 28th. We can only image the joy she
must have felt joining her husband Richard
again but she is dearly missed. She was a
wonderful mother, friend and a second mom
to me. Just at Easter she was in Hubbell
visiting her good friend and former neighbor,
Anne. Kathryn had planned on joining us for
the fireworks this 4th at Copper Harbor. Vicki,
your mom is always with you; she'll have the
best view and No Bugs! She wouldn't want you
to cry - she'd tell you to smile, be happy and
enjoy
life!

My grandmother, Pauline Boltz, of Saginaw,
was still driving at 100 and died two months
shy of 102 just two years ago in July. She
made these "cabbage buster" things with
cooked cabbage, ground beef, and onions
packed into a bread dough pocket (sealed up)
that went GREAT with a frosty cold Busch
Bavarian or Strohs. Kind of like a pasty, I
suppose, just without the veggies. What a cool
old lady she was!

I received word within the year that Carl had passed on to his final reward. Am grateful for that time we had together.

MARY C. RYAN
Nee Dunning
(Marie)

21st August

One year has gone by since you
left us - seems like yesterday

Much loved by us all and sadly
missed by family and friends

Your kindness and motherly love looked
after your children and
Inspired so many people in so many
different ways

God took you into his kingdom when
HE decided

Never far away from our
Hearts, prayers and thoughts
