I was heading downstate last Fri and snapped this pic while crossing the Mighty Mac around 9:30 pm. Just thought I'd share it with the Pasty Cam. You've got a great site and a great community.

Thanks,

Josh Griffin

Just wanted to let you know that your awesome pictures are sent to my cousin who's deployed in Kuwait, happy to be out of Iraq. He has email access daily, but can't surf the web to see your sight.
They all really enjoy your pictures.
Thanks.

Beautiful sunset, thanks. And beautiful flower with bee! Seems whether you're gazing off into the distance or taking a gander at what's right in front of you, there's something marvelous to see.

By Alias on Thursday, June 19, 2003 - 11:28 am:

What's that bee doing to that flower!?!

By Mr. Wheatman, South end on Thursday, June 19, 2003 - 11:31 am:

Aah the oxeye daisy, Leucanthemum vulgare, considered a noxious weed by some, but a welcomed sight in the UP as it is a precursor to the summer season indeed. Kudos on the shot of the bee, infamous for his perseverance hence the axiom that has bequeathed upon him.

I'll have to set this one as my hubby's wallpaper. He's counting the hours until he goes up for the annual St. Ignace car show/cruise next weekend. And he's been known to take a dip right underneath the Mighty Mac. This one will inspire him to do it again this year, even tho the temperatures aren't quite as inviting as years past. Awesome photo!

Sharon~Howell MI - I thought they canceled the the annual car show in St Ignace? That is what they said in the Daily Mining Gazette a while back.

To Keweenawland...... Boy, is that husband who is going to the " car show " going to be angry with you !!!!!!

By Cousin Jack on Thursday, June 19, 2003 - 01:39 pm:

Can you hear me now?
;o)

(Great shots guys!)

Watching the sunset while crossing the bridge was always a great way to end a weekend at home. It made the trip back to Kazoo worth while because I knew someday I would return back to Yooperland to work after college. Thanks for the shot!

I've heard the car show is still on.....and I'm dreading having to drive thru it to get away from it all up north....

By gt on Thursday, June 19, 2003 - 02:13 pm:

The car show is on.....starts the 26th....

Uaaaah - somehow some kind of sunsets always make me want to take the next flight. West right into the glast, preferably.
Thnx for that one.

By Sharyn~Howell on Thursday, June 19, 2003 - 08:29 pm:

keweenawland~

There was a rumor started by a letter written to the editor of one of the car mags that the show was cancelled. It's not true. The show is still on. I know that the magazine got a lot of angry letters for not verifying before printing. I didn't realize the gazette ran the same rumor. That's a shame. Hopefully all the diehards will know better.

When I attended NMU in 19-something, we used to roll our windows down as we crossed The Bridge NO MATTER WHAT TIME OF YEAR ... ALL THE WAY ACROSS. This kept the pure air in the UP, and the un-pure air in the L.P.
Does anyone else keep this tradition alive?

By J.T. on Thursday, August 28, 2003 - 08:26 pm:

The two boats are the Alpena (headed for the camera) and the Algosteel (headed away from camera)
