Hope you had a nice long weekend. I hear the weather was lovely in the U.P., could have been better out here in Canada's most easterly province. Marlin Wenberg snuck up on a couple of pre-birds for today's glimpse of home.

Did you know there are no snakes, skunks, deer, porcupines or groundhogs on the island of Newfoundland? Tuck that one away for Trivial Pursuit (does anybody still play it?)
Good night from N.L. and good morning from da U.P. trip notes nl

Toivo,

Here is the current time in St.Johns, Newfoundland:

Which is an 90 minutes AHEAD of Keweenaw time. Shouldn't it be "Good morning from N.L.and good night from the U.P."?

Now see, I thought the same thing, a follow-up picture after they hatch! So sweet to see. Another rite of Spring and life's renewal. Thank you!

Thanks for all the great pictures, they improve my day, everyday. I was hoping for a picture of Lakeview Cemetary, and a shot of the Memorial Day parade. Any chance of that?

Of course thats where we get "Robin's egg blue" from. Had a clutch of four in my patio awning a few years ago. Just great to watch them out my window!

Yes Toivo, We still play Trivial Pursuit. In fact they have recently come out with a 25 aniversary edition.

Then where does the saying, 'Sky-blue pink' come from? :>) My uncle Hubert used to say that all the time. Another of his favorites was 'forget-me don'ts.' There are at least 3 or 4 robin's nests here at 'Ken from da UP's' place. There were pieces of blue egg shells here and there a week or so ago. I mowed the grass here today and they hop along with me in the short grass. Is it easier for them to find a meal that way? They sure like the birdbath. Temp. was over 77 deg. this aft. Little too warm for me, 55 or 60 would be more like it.
