How refreshing to see these waters after driving through hectic Chicago this afternoon. As you can see, I decided to push on instead of going back up north for the weekend. Besides, if I ever miss home, I just take a 'virtual tour' through the Pasty Cam, next best thing to being there.

We've had Bond Falls on these pages in the past, but I don't recall this wooden bridge in any previous shots. Maybe Z-Man or some of the folks at the Road Commission can enlighten us about it.

Charlie will be along with a shoebox memory on Sunday, Lord willin' and the creeks don't rise. So let me say an early Happy Easter to everyone.

On my annual spring trip to bond falls I was presented with the new bridges (2) at the bottom of the falls. The old bridges took a whooping last year during the spring melt down and were in poor shape. Looking down into the falls the view has really changed with these new additions. I think there was a story in the Ontonagon herald last week about this, but I have not read it yet.

Hello Toivo from Chesterton! I'm enjoying your trip too! Hope you can head to Lake Michigan and take a peek at the Indiana dunes! (Loons have been migrating through lately.) Chesterton is the "gateway to the Indiana dunes." Happy Easter everyone!

HEY Toivo, You can put your car on a steamship in AK, 10 days later you have your car in Honolulu. Only bad thing is there is no place to park it! I think it would be easier to fly and then have dem bro's haul you around Kalakaua Ave. in those rickshas. Now that would make a cool photo! Practice the Hawaiian "kuinka se mene" by holding the hand down and shaking only the thumb and pinkie and say "howzit bro?" If you do drive to Alaska, can I be your navigator? I have driven it three times, it's only 6000 miles from Covington. The only place I got lost was in the underground parking lot of Saskatoon(don't ask). The ferry from Seattle was memorable. The stop in Haines in October was when thousands of eagles were feeding on the nearby river. The drive over the Elias Mt. range was scary in winter but beautiful. Everyone should do this trip for sure and plan on at least the whole summer to get to see the vast land called the last frontier, the most incredible place, Alaska.

I just had my first taste of Trenary Toast. I ordered some after the conversations about it a couple of weeks ago. I dunked them properly in coffee. FANTASTIC! I enjoyed the cinnamon best, the sugar next, and the plain would be a good base for a nice marmalade. Before they got here, I found some cinnamon toast made locally and some rusks imported from Holland. NO COMPARISON! I guess that the birds will benefit from those two. I now know what you all meant. I'm a fan from now on. Thanks for the tip.

Try that trenary toast with a bit of butter warmed in the microwave for just a few, and then settle down with a coffee and the taost and browse pasty.cam for a while. Can almost feel those pictures! :o)

Slovenian easter sausage---Larry Ilenich 2(1 1/2 lb.)white bread 2 doz.eggs 3lbs. bacon ends and pieces--diced ham also if wanted--1 plastic caseing,4by 20 inches,approx--1 T.salt --1t. onion powder--1 1/2 tsp. black pepper---1 1/4 garlic powder-----cube bread--beat eggs--dice and frie bacon,not crisp,drian--dice ham if used--beat seasonings into eggs,then pour over bacon and bread.--mix well,stuff into plastic caseing,not too tight,to lenth of roaster. -tie end. prick about 6 times with table fork.babe in roaster in 2 inches of water,covered,for 1 1/2 hrs at 350 degrees--cool before cutting--store in frig

Wow! Beautiful bridge and the falls. We haven't been to Bond Falls in over 20 years. We'll have to put it on our agenda this summer.

I was reading the WLUCTV6 website and it said the DNR was making a parking area for the handicapped. I'm definetely going up there when I'm home in Oct.

Any fish under the bridge? Probably. Some of the biggest speckled trout I've caught (and kept and took home and ate) have been under the shady waters of bridges like this one. Catch one, come back in an hour or so and maybe you'll catch another that was among the many spooked by the first one leaving.
