Mystery Photo

By

Remember your first snow shovel? This boy got his about the time he learned to walk. He must have liked the white stuff alot, to move to the Copper Country later in life. That's his older sister on the right. Any ideas? We'll have the answer tonight.

It sure has been fun subbing here on the Cam. Charlie should be back later today, if they don't run into too much snow along I-75 and US-2.

Snow shovel design evolution really has not changed much over the years has it? Most of sthe snow dwelling population are still using this particular design.
Regards,
Donn

Re: mystery children. I think that is Charlie and his sister.

By JohnP MI on Sunday, March 2, 2003 - 12:40 pm:

Cak beat me to it, I thought Charlie and his sister, went and did something else and came back to late to put it in.

guess would be charlie too. snow shoveling was also fun, to build forts and hollow out rooms in the big snow banks. fun memories from the past. BUT*** when we became older, all the fun seemed to go out of snow removal thing. then it became just work.

By Peg Hardt, Green Bay on Sunday, March 2, 2003 - 02:00 pm:

JJ, it's very true about kids having fun in the snow. As a "kid" of 65 I still have fun in the snow, but don't take part in the removal much.

By pikkuleipa on Sunday, March 2, 2003 - 02:41 pm:

That has to be Charlie, who by the way, I listened to on the radio yesterday!
I thought the show was all going to be about pasty.com....and I really should have called in and asked if Pasty.net was available in my area :)
I hope you had good trip back to the land of woodchucks & white pines! (how they described the UP on the show)

By Mike Mehrman, Michigan on Sunday, March 2, 2003 - 03:11 pm:

It's hard to imagine what someone might look like when you reside in cyberspace, my guess would be Charlie and his big sister.

By Alex Tiensivu on Sunday, March 2, 2003 - 05:35 pm:

It's got to be Charlie...

By Tbel on Sunday, March 2, 2003 - 06:14 pm:

Although the shows not listed yet I assume this site will be updated at the beginning of the week, and then we'll be able to listen to Charlie.

By BCT,Mi on Sunday, March 2, 2003 - 08:42 pm:

I've tried some of those "evolved" Snow shovels and I think they need to continue to "evolve" some more. The old one is still the best.

You got it - - Charlie and his sister Linda, little trolls who lived in Keego Harbor, Michigan at the time of this shot. He hasn't changed much:
Charlie
I spoke with him after their arrival in Eagle River late Sunday. And thanks to Charlie's mom for the picture (from her shoebox, of course)

This is a photo taken a long time ago of my brother and me in Waterloo, IA enjoying the snow.

I love black and white pictures. Glad the photographers are bringing it back in style. Nothing like the old photos tho'.

By MM, Chicago on Monday, March 3, 2003 - 01:17 pm:

Looks like Charlie is putting to use his older sister's hand-me-downs. Although he was probably not old enough to know the difference then, fur trim collars were never real popular on boys winter coats. But don't he look cute?!

By Proud Yooper - MI on Monday, March 3, 2003 - 06:11 pm:

Toivo, Once again you did a fanastic job covering for Charlie.

By bakwoods on Monday, March 3, 2003 - 09:17 pm:

MM - nough talk 'bout girls clothes... even dan'l boone-a-maki wore da fur.

By Karen-Washington State on Monday, March 3, 2003 - 10:49 pm:

Here is a wonderful shot by Jeff Laitila which came in while I was away, which did not make in to the daily Pasty Cam, but eventually became the Wallpaper of the Week for the first week of March:
