Hei folks! - -

Charlie has asked me to mind the store while he and his wife wing their way south for the next few weeks. When you consider all the pictures I have taken for the Pasty Cam (about ZERO to be exact), you know I'll be counting on the old Guest Gallery for your daily glimpses. Ethel Moyle does the honors today, with a shot of her breakfast buddy, at their place in the country (Copper Country that is).

I see by her email address Ethel is a Pasty.NET member (way to go grampy@pasty.com!). And Ethel's not a first-time Cammie, either, as she gave an eyeball witness report of the Moyle Reunion last summer. Now we know where they got the blue!

A ton of Moyles
By the way, you won't want to miss tomorrow's Shoebox Memory on the Pasty Cam. Back in 1986, Charlie and his wife wrote a song in tribute to the Challenger astronauts. The sad events of the past week caused them to dig out the old recording, a timely remembrance honoring those space pioneers. If you don't have Real Audio, you'll want to get it for this one.

"Yoose guys" make me soooo lonely for the UP. I grew up there (Nisula) and when I look at these pictures during winter, the longing is even greater. Would love to retire up there, but hubby says "No Way". Little does he know, hey?

Yes, Toivo, we do have a saying on the farm...about "Moyle Blue"...Gramdma always wore blue...royal, navy, light, baby, sky..any shade of blue..would do. See 'y'all' this summer, by the Big BLUE Lake! :)

Thanks Toivo, Being a Newbie on the digital I didn't know if this would be good enough. It offers encouragement to keep learning.

Ethel,

You captured the very moment when he took flight, which required a quick and steady hand. The snow on the pines in the distance give a real sense of perspective. Excellent work.

You are a true blue Pasty Cammy.

they eat at my "peanut" station all year

By BreaksSR@aol.com on Tuesday, February 11, 2003 - 10:33 pm:

By Mary on Tuesday, February 11, 2003 - 10:50 pm:

BreaksSR@aol.com:
Check out the link below, it has info on Blue Jays, and says it's hard to tell the difference except during breeding season.

who exactly sent me the article on blue jays?

I am totaly blown away with this much info!

I am / and always will be a "closet birder", in that I never have gone "in the field" , but am truly liking to watch and follow and feed my birds.

By jim breakey on Monday, February 17, 2003 - 08:35 pm:

thanks again to whomever sent the info on the blue jays
