Charlie asked me to check the photo inbox today and see if we snagged some keepers. This one from Donn de Yampert captures today's conditions quite well - - Mostly sunny blue skies, around 40 degrees, not much snow on the ground. Seemed to me this one would go well with Sunday's shoebox memory, the old stomping ground of our snow-bathing beauty Art Hill.

To F.K., Do you mean you were in your young 40's or was the time frame in the 1940's?

My cousin and I did paint that place! Just the tower. Cousin Willard painted the cap from a bosuns chair and I painted all those windows at the top from a 40 foot wood ladder with 10 feet of aluminum ladder tied to it. Must have been in '68 or '69. For about $2.00 per hour. Ahh-the good old days-glad they're gone!

This is the former Home of Ed Lieblein. I grew up in Hancock and love the pasty cam. Small world, UPers are scattered all over, recently due to Me bragging about growing up in Gods country, at OSU vs Mich football party (I lost $20) I found out that I have 2 friends who are also UP'ers living within a block of me in Rocky River.

It really is a small world. I finally got to talk to a guy at work-had seen him around-but not really talked. He's from Iron Mountain and I'm from Hancock, we're both in San Jose-go figure. Also introduced him to Pasty.com.

Iam a lost Finn in the deep south, no longer able to make that long trip. Now I get my Kicks from Pasty.com. Thanks for the entertainment

I went to school at Soumi in 1958. There was a fellow named Max Silitanga from Indonsia that attended that year. We have a friend now living in Indonesia and I would like to know if anyone knows how to contact him.
