Like those elevated walkways you used to see in town, leading from folks' front door to the street (I'm sure they're probably still used in the Copper Country today as well.), back in days of yore on da farm in da Nort' woods, you had to be prepared for heavy snowfall events too; you even built the outhouse so it wouldn't be buried in a snowbank!
