Barb Bouwkamp is on the ball when it comes to getting things ready for the cold season and burning wood to stay warm... she's already had her chimney cleaned, so it will be safe to burn wood in the fireplace or the wood burner that heats her home.
It's a regular fall ritual to check the chimney or at least it should be if you're burning wood. Removing the creosote from the chimney liner is a must to prevent having a chimney fire later on, when you're keeping warm by the woodstove or fireplace.
The guys up on Barb's roof look like they know what they're doing with those cleaning brushes. Seeing them up there on the roof with the chimney brush in hand makes me think of the chimney sweeps in Mary Poppins, only these gentlemen aren't dancing on Barb's roof. ;-)
This is a good time to remind everyone that if you burn wood, be sure to check and clean your chimney regularly!

That steep-pitched roof is good for keeping the snow from accumulating but not the best for climbing.:-/

Tommy Chong a dancer? That's hard to imagine...I can remember him in "Santa Claus and His Old Lady" "I played with those dudes, man." :-)

I see that our brave chimney sweep has opted for a hard hat instead of the more traditional TOP HAT. Another tradition bites the DUST. Pun intended.
