Dan's 'Edge of the Huron Mountains' looks a lot like the Great Smokies in my home state of TN.:)

Our wonderful little pet, Otis, has not been seen or heard from since yesterday afternoon. He was a "stick to home" kind of cat and always was there to greet us whenever we got home. He never stayed out at night or anything. There is no sign of him. I'm afraid our cuddly, loveable, lap cat is gone. My heart is broken yet again :-( His brother, Max, is always the one who loves to roam and hunt. He's sticking pretty close to home, so we think that whatever happened, he was a witness and doesn't want to go out. So very sad :-(

Sorry to hear, Deb. That happened to me once and I found him 2 days later hiding under the front seat of my car. How he got there I’ll never know, but cats have a way of taking care of themselves.

That's so sad, Deb.:( Our precious little 'friends' can sure break our hearts. Am hoping that Otis is just 'visiting' somewhere and will return home soon.

Deb, I hope Otis is back home with you very soon. I know that broken heart feeling. Keep in touch with Veterinarians and the Humane Society in case he has been left in their care. Have Faith you will have him back soon!

Deb, A big sigh of relief reading Ron's status that Max IS back home!!!!

I fully understand your worrying about Otis! Every time I let Smudge out he is in harness on a long leash. And I check him about every 15 minutes especially in the evening! You never know but he is clawless in front but at least I'd hear him. We have a new visitor around here these days. A hen turkey has taken to strolling around our parking lot and road around here. Just strolls calming-like she owns this place. So cute.

Yes, Otis is back. HUGE sigh of relief. But he is grounded. He is absolutely filthy so he had to be caught somewhere. We just don't know where, obviously. He doesn't ever stray, so I have no clue what got into him to take off. If he was caught by his flea collar, they are made to slip off if they're caught. But so happy he's found. Losing another pet would have broken our hearts. Thanks for all the caring and concern. I know that this is the place to come for that. It's where people care about other's feelings. THANK YOU ALL!!!

What a HAPPY DAY!! Deb, I think all of us who have had 'outdoor' kitties knew what you were going through. So glad Otis found his way HOME!;)

Mavis stays in the house. I have lost so many kitties that were able to go outside, and also living on this very busy road that we do. Too many times my heart has been shattered. Besides staying in the house keeps her closer to her dinner plate.

I wanted them to be indoor kitties but was overruled by my hubby. They usually stay close to home and our road isn't traveled on a lot. I think he got lost or caught in the neighbor's bean field. It's the only thing I can think of. But thank you guys for caring :-) He's meowing like crazy to get out. Ain't happening until this is a distant memory to him.

Tippy was an indoor kitty and he was with us/me for almost 15 years.:>
