Bob Gilreath hopped on his John Deere side by side for a fall color season ride and today's photos are what he found along the way. I was actually shocked to see how much the colors have popped out in just a matter of a couple days. Usually we refer to the colors bursting, popping, etc., but I'd have to agree with something I read yesterday, that the color has exploded here UP North. Again, though, it just depends where you're touring and the amount of change there has been so far.
Bob said his first photo was taken on the Kallio Road, looking north east into the Traprock Valley and beyond, just south of Copper City. What a view from UP there, the vista seems to go on forever and the colors are splendid, indeed!
I don't know exactly where on the trail Bob took the next two reflecting photos, but the deep blue of the water and the lighter blue of the sky frame the reflections and the real thing just perfectly. The third shot is my favorite, enjoying the colors times two.
My guess for the fourth photo was either pussy willows or bull rushes gone bad. I was wrong on both counts, as Bob informed me that this was a photo of thistle. I guess when fall comes around, more than just the colors explode, as it looks like this weed does, too.
Hope you're enjoying the colors so far!

The ankle is placed between the foot and knee in order to keep the calf away from the corn. Sorry coffee will do this sometimes...another perfect day on tap!
