Kelly Sullivan and her fiance Scott were hiking in the Ottawa National Forest, when they spotted these tracks near what Kelly said is their "piece of heaven". They weren't sure what made the tracks and they have a good reason for wondering what did, because in just a few weeks, they'll be getting married right there at that spot. Congratulations!
Now back to the tracks… so far Kelly says the consensus is either a big cat, a wolf or a coyote. My guess was a wolf, but I'm no animal tracking expert, so if you have an expert or not so expert opinion, please feel free to chime in with your thoughts.
No matter what the animal turns out to be, I hope it stays away on their wedding day or at least stays out of sight. What a pretty spot to start their life as man and wife. Kelly describes it as majestic and I would have to agree.

Sasquatch? I was on Brockway the Friday before Labor Day and a couple were preparing a wedding for the next day, Saturday. Seems like the area to get hitched (and also start a catering service) :-)

I think that Capt. Paul has seen "Jaws" :-)
Great pictures, and here's hoping it stays away on your important day.

Members of the cat family do not show signs of claws in their tracks. Members of the dog family do. I would guess these tracks are wolf and not dog.

A typical coyote track is 2-1/2 inches long and less than 2 inches wide. A wolf track is closer to 4-1/2 inches long and 3 inches wide. I think the tracks are coyote tracks.
