Marilynn Bachorik said that living in Munising gives her husband Dennis and her the opportunity to discover more beautiful U.P. sights every day. The day they took these photos, they were out looking for a few of the more remote waterfalls in the area.
The first photo is the road into Laughing Whitefish Falls, which Marilynn said isn't really much of a road, but if you follow it you get a great view of the falls, pictured in the second shot. What a unique looking falls with the long tiered slide down this 100 foot high cascade. Beautiful right now and I can only imagine what it must look like in the spring with the runoff from the melting snow.
The remaining three pictures, Marilynn snapped at Rock River Falls. The trail in is a bit rough, but again, the trip in is well worth the hike once you see the water cascading down the falls there. Marilynn and Dennis were also treated to someone's rock arrangement there at the base of the falls… art on the rocks!

Laughing Whitefish is something to see during the spring runoff. You wouldn't want to slip into the rushing water.

That's a lot of water for Laughing Whitefish Falls this time of year! We hiked back (before the steps and platforms were installed) and there was barely a dribble down the rocks that time. I agree with David, in the Spring it's just amazing!

Greetings:
September is the best time to see the falls, decent weather and no bugs.
Beautiful pictures. I have a lot of favorite things and waterfalls are one of them.

This is the way the trails were at all the falls when my Grandparents took us camping in the U.P.
