Before you go thinking that September is already over and it's the last day of the month sunrise/sunset photo memorial already, just hold on. It's still the beginning of the month, but we get so many beautiful sunrises and sunsets that there are just never enough "end of the month" days to share them all. So today I'm declaring it a special Sunrise/Sunset day here on the Pasty Cam.
Our first photo is from Liz Boorman, who was sitting on her sister's beach between Calumet Waterworks and McGun Creek, when she saw this young couple canoeing in the quiet calm of the evening. I bet all you could hear was the splash of their paddles as they glided along Superior's shore.
The next photo was snapped by Joe Kirkish, also along the Keweenaw shoreline, just further north, as the sun was rising. It looks like it was wearing a hood, as it makes its way up through the clouds for the day.
The last two photos come from Brenda Leigh, snapped in the Brimley area. Her first of the two, is similar to Joe's above, just with a bit more muted colors. I like the way the bird seems to be suspended in the air, going nowhere at the moment.
Brenda's bottom photo is simply amazing with the way the rising sun has illuminated the clouds in the sky. She figured that this a.m. sky was painting a picture of what the weather was going to be like that day and suggested everyone prepare by getting their umbrellas ready. I wonder if Brenda's prediction was true that day or not?

Coming up or going down, the sun, clouds and water always makes a beautiful combination.

Uncle Chuck--I'm sorry you're not working in the U.P. any longer either. Please give my regards and my father's (George Koskimaki) to your Uncle Rudy. My father can't see well enough to dial his telephone anymore, but your Uncle Rudy is always so faithful about calling him.

Kosk, I will give Rudy your regards, thanks. Your father is a very nice man, is he using the rollator I gave him to get around easier and safer? I hope so... tell him I said hello.
I am always fascinated by the beautiful skies here in the Keweenaw. the photos are beautiful...and peaceful.
