When Kelly Sullivan gets to take a break from her busy schedule running Sidnaw Eats, she enjoys getting out and enjoying all the beauty nature has to offer around there in the Sidnaw area.

Today she shares what she thinks might be an immature osprey or perhaps an immature eagle, sitting in the tree keeping an eye on her, keeping an eye on it. I'm undecided on which it could be, since the description of the young osprey points out the white underside, where the young eagle is a more mottled belly, which this bird seems to have. Either way, Kelly captured some nice shots of this larger bird of prey. Which do you think it is?

is my guess..iv"e seen quite a few osprey and young
eagles in my day..the face mask and breast markings
are that of a hawk..nice shots.!!!just my
opinion..good day everyone.!!!

I don't have my birdbook with me but I'll guess a type of hawk. Nice capture Kelly.

It's not an eagle. I think it's an osprey. If a hawk, it's not one I'm familiar with. But, that leaves a world of options in hawks!

My estimate is a juvenile Cooper's Hawk but maybe a
Northern Goshawk.

Definitely NOT an eagle or an osprey. I'm thinking
like Philip -- probably a young Red-tailed Hawk.

Thank you for sharing my pics once again and for plugging Sidnaw Eats! I couldn't do it alone, though. Scott Crouch, my partner in business and in life does all of the cooking at Sidnaw Eats. We do get out as often as we can to enjoy our great outdoors! :)
