great pictures. I like the dogs, looks like they have not seen each other in a long time.

Yes...2011 is classic. Nice set to start off the day.

Good mornig! So many great pictures today. Love
the loons. But, they're my favorite bird. Love
their call.

Love the stump on the beach, too. And Rober's water
raft picture is gorgeous!

Have a great day! Happy Hump Day!!

By Marianne Y (Marianne) on Wednesday, July 23, 2014 - 08:40 am:

Good Morning everyone. I like the Gulf Rock Lighthouse, Welcome to the Keweenaw, Monocle Lake, and the Loons, among others. Have a good Hump Day. And, have a Happy Batman Day. (Today is the 75th anniversary of Batman, I read.)

Love all the 'critters'.....except the snake!:<

Got a giggle outta the 'high tech weather station'.;D

By kay Moore (Mskatie) on Wednesday, July 23, 2014 - 05:01 pm:

OKAY CHARLIE I GIVE UP! You've exposed my wilderness hide away (a.k.a. the old backup generator at the lodge.!) It wasn't much of a cabin but it's all I could afford up in the UP! And nobody bothered me. Old Bill had the perfect place. Could write and paint as I pleased. Sorry it ended up like it did. Had lots of peace and quiet. (CHUCKLE-CHUCKLE)

By Shirley Waggoner (Shirlohio) on Wednesday, July 23, 2014 - 05:23 pm:

LOL! Kay, looks like you didn't do enough of the right kind of 'painting'.;)

By Deb S. (Usedtobeayooper) on Wednesday, July 23, 2014 - 06:22 pm:

Shirley, I didn't like the snake either. I can't
stand them :-(

By Shirley Waggoner (Shirlohio) on Wednesday, July 23, 2014 - 07:19 pm:

A very tiny garter snake got into my house recently, Deb, and I almost flipped out!!:<

By Deb S. (Usedtobeayooper) on Wednesday, July 23, 2014 - 09:32 pm:

So would have I, Shirley. When I was a teenager, I
pushed my, much older than me, aunt to the ground
and ran when a tiny garter snake creepy crawled in
front of us. I truly can't stand them!!!

By Alex "UP-Goldwinger" (Alex) on Wednesday, July 23, 2014 - 09:43 pm:

Are you aware of Michigan's rattlesnake?
http://www.michigan.gov/dnr/0,1607,7-153-10370_12145_12201-32995--,00.html

I had the experience on two occasions; Once at the side of the road while taking a leak near Rose City, MI (it was a slow evening) and another in Lake Orion, MI.

By Deb S. (Usedtobeayooper) on Wednesday, July 23, 2014 - 09:53 pm:

Minnesota has the rattlesnake also, in the south
western portion of the state. I hope to never
encounter one. All of the snakes that we had in our
yard, we got rid of. I don't care if they do eat
bugs. The sight of one could give me a heart
attack. I have a couple of friends who have snakes
that slither up the siding of their houses and get
inside. I could not live in those houses.

By Shirley Waggoner (Shirlohio) on Thursday, July 24, 2014 - 08:04 am:

Having lived in this house for 27 years, that was the first time we had a visit from a snake. Had to call my daughter, who caught it with a 'grabber', carried it outside and turned it loose in some high weeds. Still have no idea how it got inside, except maybe via the chimney.

By Janie T. (Bobbysgirl) on Thursday, July 24, 2014 - 08:15 am:

When our Doberman Pinscher was with us before he passed on, he loved finding Garter or Bullsnakes, grabbing them in his teeth and flinging those snakes into the air! It was funny to watch.

By Shirley Waggoner (Shirlohio) on Thursday, July 24, 2014 - 08:39 am:

Maybe I should get a Doberman Pinscher! ;)

By Janie T. (Bobbysgirl) on Thursday, July 24, 2014 - 09:11 am:

Shirley, they are really great dogs. Lucky was a clown, but they can weigh up to 115 lbs. He didn't go for walks, he ran alongside with me on the ATV!

By Shirley Waggoner (Shirlohio) on Thursday, July 24, 2014 - 09:56 am:

One of our neighbors had a Doberman for several years but because his property was less than an acre, he wound up giving it to his friend who lived out in the country, so 'Adolf' would have lots of room to roam and play.

By Waveaction (Lakelover) on Thursday, July 24, 2014 - 04:29 pm:

Not too fond of snakes either. Don't have anymore snakes, mice, shrew, skunks or, (don't like this one), frogs.
We have a gray fox couple that moved in. Have found several field mice at our front door that look like they have been mauled. I think it's because of the foxes. Didn't have them move in until Yooper Joe went to the Rainbow Bridge. They must have respected his territory.

It was another beautiful day in Ontonagon, as always.

By Shirley Waggoner (Shirlohio) on Thursday, July 24, 2014 - 05:05 pm:

Hmmmm.....maybe I'll try to round up a fox ~ wouldn't have to feed him like I would a Doberman.;>
