I was watching the Farm Report on TV early Saturday morning. They mentioned the specter of more of a chance of an early frost this year, which, coupled with the late spring planting... Let's just hope that report does not happen! Grain prices are low this year, messed up because farmers could not get their grain shipped out with the bad winter in early 2014, causing shortages of railroad cars, so there is the glut of last year's crop yet to sell, coupled with what they had hoped would be good crops this year, dropping market prices. With a possible early frost, coupled with low prices, it might not be a good scene for American farmers this coming year. I also heard of the possibility of another polar vortex this coming winter, in addition to unseasonably cold weather here in mid-Michigan this coming week.
