Brenda Leigh has what you might call a green thumb when it comes to gardening and she honors her Mom, who also gardened, by using the sign she had made for her garden, on her own this year in Brimley.

I really like the looks of Brenda's raised garden beds and I bet they make it a little easier on the back when it comes to weeding. One thing we can see for sure, though, is that Brenda knows how to grow rhubarb or leaves at least. Look at the size of that leaf she's holding. Brenda jokingly said she was going to make some clothing out of it. At least I think she was joking. ;-)

Hello to everyone visiting the U.P. this month. It's a busy weekend, with events in many communities around the Peninsula. A couple of our favorites are the Civil War encampment at Fort Wilkins (Copper Harbor) and the Rendezvous in the Sault (Sault Ste. Marie). Too bad we can't be two places at once!

Wow...how do you keep the critters away?

Edie...glad to hear you chime in and I hope you doing well. Wish I could join the festivities UP there. If you run across Mike Du Long (Mikei) at Fort Wilkins, please tell him I said hello. I believe he participates in the civil war reenactment.

Edie, so nice to have you step in for Charlie! Always good to hear from both of you!

Brenda doesn't just have a green thumb, she must have green fingers. Beautiful gardens!

Good morning, Edie!

Beautiful garden, but I notice Brenda is standing
next to her tomatoes wearing a jacket and hoodie.
It's a challenge to ripen tomatoes in the Frozen
North.

Beautiful garden, Brenda. And how sweet to honor
your mom like that. You're such a great person
inside and out.

Today would be a good day for strawberry and rhubarb pie with a cup of coffee. Of course tomorrow would be a good day for that and yesterday was also.
