We don't always like it when it rains, especially if you're in the Keweenaw on vacation, but Melanie Hakala Rossi has some beautiful examples of the beauty that the rain brings with it after the sun comes back out. Spectacular rainbow photos with some mining history from Mason in there, too.
The wildflowers in those first two shots sure add to the beauty, also, which made it hard for me to decide which one was my favorite. Lucky for all of you, though, because you get to enjoy all five of them, just like I did.

Very pretty shots; I love the one with the flowers in the foreground. I'm not sure where Mason is. Can anyone fill me in?
Mary says: Hi MarilynnB...Mason is a small community that you pass through on M26, between Dollar Bay and Tamarack City. It's where the half sunken dredge is on the lake side and there are ruins of mining buildings across the road. The actual little community there was established during the mining days and were all company homes, so they're pretty similar in looks for the most part, although they are privately owned now and folks have put their own signature on the homes now.
This link should take you to Google Maps. You may have to zoom out a little to see where Dollar Bay and Tamarack City/Hubbell are in relation to Mason. Google Maps-Mason

I think the last one with the full rainbow is my favorite. Beautiful shots, Melanie!

The 4th picture shows a double rainbow, at least I'm seeing a double.

Rainbows, another one of Nature's ways of picking up one's spirits. Rainbows make me smile. Thank you for sharing.
