Tom Reisner and family have a special spot near Mason where the Sweet Peas bloom this time of year. Fourteen years ago Tom snapped the top photo of Jane and Debbie cuddling on the hillside. Then they returned to the same spot 7 years later, Debbie no longer a toddler. This time, Joshua joins the fun with Mom and Sis... who is now working on her driver's license!

It's because of folks like the Reisner's, and all of you who have contributed photos and comments over the last 16+ years of this journey, that the Pasty Cam has remained a *daily* feature. The days become months, the months become years, the landmarks fade, but the babies become beautiful young men and women moving to the next phase of their lives, enjoying this special place known as the U.P... Thanks to Tom, Jane and family for sharing these parallel moments of their annual vacation time.

In case you missed our July 16 Pasty Central Day in History, we remember another Summer day when the Keweenaw tragically lost one of its young full-time residents. A reminder of caution for all of us as we explore the historic Copper Country.

Thanks again for clicking our way today. Have a good one :o)

What a beautiful setting for having a family photo taken....among the flowers! Love the range from purple, white, then pink.

Great photo series and an interesting, but tragic video…a reminder to watch out for yourself and loved ones.

By mickill mouse (Ram4) on Wednesday, July 16, 2014 - 02:33 pm:

the last time we went out to where ruth ann miller is buried, there was all kinds of garbage and debri inside the fence enclosure where her headstone is. there was even a picture of her on a horse with holes in it. I would not want all of that around where my loved one is buried.

Love those flowers - just beautiful.

By Shirley Waggoner (Shirlohio) on Wednesday, July 16, 2014 - 03:31 pm:

That's such a shame, Mickill. You'd think that someone (family member, perhaps) could get permission to enter the fenced area and clean up. So sad.

How sad for Ruth Ann Miller mickill mouse (Ram4). Why are people so cruel. No wonder why this world is so messed up. Can't even respect the dead.
Poor little girl.

By Deb S. (Usedtobeayooper) on Wednesday, July 16, 2014 - 07:49 pm:

The last time we were there, everything was beautiful! It would be awful to see her grave surrounded by such a mess. We have a family out here who lost a 19 year old girl. They can't decorate her grave because people keep stealing everything off of it. What is wrong with this world? Makes one really wonder.

That is so beautiful...I remember the second
pic...not so much the first..but what a wonderful
thing to do! FABULOUS!!! Thank you for sharing!
