Melody Provost Holmes made it up to Copper Harbor with friends and family that had gathered there for a reunion and to watch the fireworks on the evening of the 4th. She captured the Queen and a few smaller boats moving about beforehand. Most likely the Queen was returning from the sunset cruise and getting docked up in time for the fireworks display.
The shots Melody captured of the actual fireworks, just give you a taste of the actual show, which Charlie mentioned on his Sunday post, "…were the most amazing and spectacular we have seen in 25 years of attending the annual display." Thanks for taking us along, Melody!

Edie and I attended another event this evening, that was spectacular in a different way: The Moving Wall in Calumet. The initial dedication was at 10 pm, and tomorrow morning at 11am there will be a second ceremony to honor those who are listed on the Wall. We'll try to bring you more about it over the weekend, but you'll want to see it for yourself if you are within driving distance of Calumet this weekend.
It is located at Legion Field, which is on M-203, just as you leave Calumet headed toward McLain State Park.
Sorry for another late-in-the-day Pasty Cam, on a day that started for me in Marquette at 5am and has been non-stop until just now :o)
