So many communities around the U.P. enjoyed splendid weather and enthusiastic participants for their parades, fireworks, and other festivities. These action shots are from William Linn showing the scenes along the parade route in Bruce Crossing.
Besides being a busy holiday weekend, Edie and I caught up on all the things we've missed during the week, as we are spending a few in Marquette while Edie relaxes in one of their hyperbaric oxygen chambers each day. She'll have 7 weeks of treatments to help aid healing after her foot surgery earlier in the year. We did end up staying at Beacon House, which has become our 'home away from home'.
We made it back to Keweenaw Friday in time for the fireworks in Copper Harbor - which were the most amazing and spectacular we have seen in 25 years of attending the annual display. We've crammed about a week's worth of catch-up into these few days, and I almost missed the Sunday Pasty Cam. Thanks, William, for helping us out.
glad to hear things are going good for you, Edie. A speedy recovery to you.

Good pics, especially the one depicting the flag raising on Iwo Jima (always liked that one).

Glad to hear about Edie's progress and that things are moving forward one day at a time. You go girl..."Adapt and survive". Please let us know if things get a little tight money-wise and perhaps we could get a fund started. I feel it’s the least we can do for all the great pics over the years. The last pic is great with the flag in one hand and a Tootsie Pop in the other; it doesn't get much more American than that.

maybe if Charlie and Edie do need it, start a little fund for Beacon House.

Charlie...here's a thought: Gifts at different donation levels like they offer on PBS.
- At the $10.00 level, you get a free calendar
- $100.00 gets you a dozen pasties
- $1,000.00 will get you an exclusive one month’s stay to your house in Eagle River :-)

Just finished five months of twice a week treatments for open wounds on my legs at st. Luke's hyperbaric center in Milwaukee. My outlook as I started treatment wasn't the best, but the staff's knowledge and experience plus their consoling confidence was of great comfort. The wounds are closed and healed. Now its up to me to keep them that way. The best to Edie with her treatments.

I'm keeping you two in my prayers. That to me is the supreme treatment for any problems physical, mental or moral. And if I may ask for prayers for a dear young family. My hairdresser (and friend) are having some ordeals that could use some prayer support. Jackie and Shane are deeply in need. About 6 weeks ago their house was demolished. She and their three pre-schoolers got out of their burning house just in time. He was working nights on the railroad. Now this week Shane was injured at work and lost a leg and a major part of an arm! I haven't found out the details yet. So please keep them in your prayers daily. Thank you wonderful friends of mine. God bless us all. Mskatie...

Will definitely add your friends to my prayers, Kay. Such a sad situation.

FJL, sorry to hear about your medical problems. Will pray that you will continue on the road to recovery.
Kay, will be praying for your friends as well. When it rains, it pours. That's an awful lot for a young family to face.
