I just love the goldfinch picture! Awesome! And the water tower from Lake Linden caught my eye, too :-)

Good Morning everyone. The walk in the woods is gorgeous. And the Yooper ingenuity was really cool, too! Have a good day!
By the way, when I was looking at the short videos of the different views from the Keweenaw Research Center (on MTU's web cams page) yesterday, it looked to me like there is still some ice in the Portage, especially after John Dee's comments on one of his beach photos in his June 1 journal. Bob G, or others of you who live near there, is there still ice in the Portage? (My Tech student son is working as an intern now in Warren for the summer, so he does not know.) Many thanks!

Not too much ice left on Lake Superior. Most of it has melted or sunk.
Ontonagon had a Lake Trout tourney over the weekend and with the calm waters on the Big Girl, it was a big hit.
The walleye are biting, going to be eating that tonight.
I can still hear the "peepers" at night and now we'll be able to hear the waves.

I once read about sinking ice cubes made with deuterium oxide. Perhaps the walleye need an intervention :-)
