We’re quite lucky to have access to a few different falls in the Keweenaw and one of the more popular ones is the Hungarian Falls in the Hubbell/Tamarack area. There is actually a series of three falls there, the lower, the middle and the upper falls. The easiest to reach is the middle falls pictured here today.
Ed Kerr was here in the Keweenaw for a visit recently, so his sister-in-law, Judy took him on a hike to check out how the water was flowing over the Hungarian falls. Looking at the photos Ed shared here today, they weren’t disappointed, as the middle falls still has a good amount of water rushing over and spraying down below.

Greetings
Is there a story behind how the Hungarian Falls got the name Hungarian Falls?
I have not had the good fortune to have been to this waterfalls but I have yet to see a picture of them that wasn't pretty. Great pictures that make me want to go there to sit on the bank and wonder about things.

This falls was called the "Bluff" when I was a kid in Tamarack Mills in the 1950's. It was our swimming hole then and will always be the "Bluff" to us.
