After a slow start, due to the baseball fields being covered with snow later than usual, the Keweenaw Little League is up and running full throttle. Krista Poirier, photographer at Krista Leigh Photography was on hand at a few of the games this past week and snapped some great shots that make you feel like you're right there at the game.

That's my grandson in the first three photos, the guy scooping up the ball, racing to third base and getting the out for the team. It was an exciting play to watch and even more exciting when Krista showed us the photos she captured of the play by play.

The fourth photo is a shot of her nephew pitching, with some real determination on his face showing, too. He has a pretty nice form and even though that ball looks like it's going in high, he has a way of making it drop into the strike zone, just as it goes over the plate.

The next pitcher is the coach's son, who also has a good form and gets his share of strikes when on the mound, too. The last photo is once again, Krista's nephew, who is on first base and her son, playing second base. They're both paying close attention to a pop-up ball that is coming their way.

It's so much fun watching these 5th and 6th grade boys play and develop from game to game. These games are great entertainment and learning opportunities for young and old alike. Play Ball!!

Duane, I bet Dinah Shore could sing Road Runner to As American as baseball, apple pie, hot dogs, and Chevrolet without missing a beat. lol! See the USA in your Road Runner. Capt Paul would be for it too! :)

We played some minor league ball down at the
boneyard while growing up in LL-H.
