Though our daily photos are usually somewhere in the U.P., today's Shoebox Memory transports us to Margraten, Netherlands, to visit the grave of one of the many American heroes we honor this Memorial Day weekend. Half a dozen years ago we first brought the story as related by Larry Chabot. In the intervening years the two top photos have made their way to the web, showing not only the cemetery but the marker where Christine Gasvoda of Calumet was laid to rest in the Spring of 1945.
Hope you are having a safe and pleasant holiday weekend with family and friends. We honor the memory of those who paid the price for this freedom we enjoy.
Oh, this is awesome! Thank you for these! And I hope you all have a safe Memorial weekend.

God bless America!
Thank you to all who gave some, and some who gave all.
