Last week, Jeremy Rowe, from Keweenaw Night Sky photography, said he had a feeling the Auroras would be out for some good viewing, so he packed up his gear and headed out to the shores of Lake Superior to get some photos of them. It was quite the capture to get the Northern Lights AND the lights of two freighters out there at the same time. Jeremy said the two boats out there were the Stewart J. Cort, with the James R. Barker trailing behind it all lit up.
The second photo looks almost identical to the first, except for the shooting star on the left hand side in the bright green strip of light. Can you spot it?
Thanks to Jeremy, for staying up to capture the night lights for us all, so we could get our beauty rest and not be tired like he was the next day.

Thanks for sharing the great pictures. The Northern Lights are probably the most spectacular of Mother Nature's offerings.

Can't wait to get to the U.P. this weekend. Maybe we'll be lucky enough to see the Northern Lights. It's probably too much to expect to see them paired with freighters. I'm sure glad you were able to capture these photos, Jeremy.
