Our Shoebox Memory finally makes an evening appearance today, courtesy of J.T. Reeder. The notes with the photos have of these scenes sometime in 1933, and it reminded me of some groups here in the Copper Country today, getting an early start on picnic season. Some of them were wearing coats, too.
What caught my attention on these shots was the word "Mother" in the notes. Looks like a number of these ladies might be mothers, as the guys are certainly outnumbered. A closer look reveals what they have in mind around the campfire, after finishing the sandwiches:
