This past Monday, Joe Kirkish took advantage of the improved weather we were having, by taking a drive to his favorite place - Great Sand Bay on M26 between Eagle River and Eagle Harbor. This is what he had to say about his little excursion:

As usual I found beauty everywhere, from the slabs of ice floating in the bay under a plain blue sky to close-ups of water gushing from underneath the road above, to footprints (mine) the only intrusion on the snow melting in the sand. What an invigorating experience! I left happy & content to have seen such a beautiful transition from winter to spring there.
I have to agree with Joe about the beauty there, adding the stillness of Lake Superior and how blue it looks with the sky reflected in the silent water. Thanks so much for sharing your contentment with us all, Joe!

At times I wondered if it would ever happen but Spring is finally pushing Winter aside for a few months of new growth. It's nice to see the waning white and the waxing blue.

So, there is land and water under all that snow and ice. Beautiful pix, Joe!

Though our winters are indeed trying at times-we
live amid unspeakable beauty. The pictures are
wonderful and reflect the awakening of spring.I will
miss this when i move.

Sweeeeeeeeet! I felt the same invigoration today in SE-MI with temps in the 70s and the trees are budding and coming back to life.
