When Brenda Leigh goes out exploring, she doesn’t always stick to the beaten path in Brimley. That’s why she’s always finding things like these Wintergreen berries, just emerging from the melting snow. She was excited to see them, because that means some fresh tea and jam are in order.

But it’s not just the little things that Brenda is in search of when she’s out with her camera. Her eye is also trained on the bigger picture, too, with something as simple as a creek with spring waters moving along and a cap of snow still on the banks, waiting for the sun to send it on the way down the creek, too.
Nice job, Brenda!

Love those wintergreen berries. Never made tea with them, just ate them as and where I found them.

I loved eating wintergreen berries. My father introduced them to
me when I was a little girl. I have never made a tea from them
either, Duane.

Does anyone know how to make Winter Green tea or Jam?

More good pictures.

Thanks for the comments. Thank you to Mary as well
for writing so many good stories when folks like
myself send in photos.

The berries are very good eaten raw. If you have an
upset stomach they work well. The natives used this
plant for medicinal purposes.

If anyone wants the recipe please drop me a note and
I will shoot you the recipe.
