Marilynn Bachorik made a visit to her "second" home in Munising last week and snapped some end of April photos in about the same places she snapped them back on her February visit. What a difference a couple of months have made, but there's still some melting that has to take place.
We start with what Marilynn calls the Grand Island Ice Curtains. The first shot is last week, with the second one being from back in February. The ice along the steep cliffs there at Pictured Rocks is still hanging on, but it has melted quite a bit in since February.
The next set of photos are in the same general area at Pictured Rocks, but you can see in the current shot that the ice is looking thinner and there is actually open water there, too, whereas in February Marilynn and her hubby were out there "walking on water" and bundled up pretty well, too.
Munising Falls is the where Marilynn stopped next. She said there was water rushing through the column of ice that was still frozen there, but back in February, it was frozen solid. Looks like it won't be long before the rushing falls melts off the rest of the ice on the walls nearby.
Marilynn claims her last photo is a special messenger that has come UP North to tell us all that Spring has Sprung! I sure hope so.

Love your 'difference' photos, Marilynn, but it's also nice to look at them and then turn and look out my windows and see new-mown grass.;)

These pictures will look so nice come July when it's in the 90's with heat index over 105.
