Great shot by Rod of the Lee A. Tregurtha ~ 'she' has a lot of WWII history behind her.

BTW, Dean, I hope little Jayce is still improving!

Thanks for the heads up Shirley. I bet most people never knew she was attacked by German U-boats during WWII. I certainly didn't.
I looked up her history. What an unusual life for a "Laker". Originally named "Samoset", in 1942 she was acquired by the US Navy and commissioned as oiler USS Chiwawa. She received at least 2 battle stars serving in both the Atlantic and Pacific. Once her 45 ship convoy was attacked by 17 U-boats and 4 sister ships were sunk. Only one of the U-boats was sunk.

Yes, D.A., 'she' was a pretty busy lady during that terrible time and still wears those campaign ribbons proudly!:)

Very interesting D.A. and Shirley, thanks for the History lesson.
Also hope that Jayce is on the way to recovery.
The snow has slowly turned into water in Ontonagon, but slowly is the key word. Looks like it's not going to be a good summer for swimming in the Big Lake.
