Just a few days ago, Joe Kirkish took a ride up to his cottage in the Keweenaw to check on things there with all the snow we've gotten. On his way back he stopped at Great Sand Bay to take a few pictures and that's when he noticed two people out on the ice, taking a walk. Can you see them in his first shot? They're just two little dots there, but then Joe zoomed in to see them better.
Quite the scenic shots with the ice out as far as you can see in the Bay there. I like the footprints those brave folks were leaving on their trek out onto the ice cover. Joe said he didn't know how far out they walked, as he didn't stick around to find out.
I wonder how long it will take for the Big Lake to thaw out this year. From what I've heard, there is some pretty thick ice out there and with the cold temperature of Lake Superior, I'm guessing it will keep that ice from melting in a hurry.

If someone didn't know any better, they'd bet these folks were walking on the Ice Planet Hoth!!!

Guess whatever 'floats their boat' in summer, can support their feet in winter.:>

That is lonesome looking. There's not gonna be any ducks there anytime soon. That one spot looks kinda blue to me. Their tracks go right up to the edge of it. Adventuresome souls.
