Back with more hope and proof that Spring is trying to make its way here to the U.P., is Brenda Leigh. She said she found this maple seed on her deck a few days ago and noticed the green sprouting, despite being surrounded by snow and ice. This can only be a sign that Spring is just around the corner, right? I sure hope so… or maybe it is nature's way of saying April Fools.
The next photo isn't as reassuring about the arrival of Spring, though, since it's a close-up of some feathery looking frost that Brenda spotted. That sure looks like small feathers there around the edge of that opening. The snowless, open water in the third photo is not a sign of Spring arriving, but it IS a spring. A warm water spring on the shoreline of Lake Superior, that Brenda said has been flowing all winter long. You can see the open spots were it bubbles up, in Brenda's fourth photo.
Then just for good measure, Brenda sent a shot of a beautiful beginning to a day in the Brimley area. She said it was a nice way to start the day and that it was also a day that brought more snow recently. I thought those looked like snow clouds in the distance. I guess that's just a reminder that it is still not Spring here UP North.
And, oh... one more thing. Check out this new model ATM (or should we say PTM) from Pasty Central. Coming to a sidewalk Kiosk near you!
See the video of the one that just came on line in New York City.
