I love the disappearing diamonds and springtime in
the Porkies! Sure wish it would warm up around
here. Have been wanting to put my snowmen away for
the season, but it's still so cold out there.

Beautiful view of the USCG Mackinaw (2009). In my opinion, 'she' was most impressive when painted white.

Shirlohio: It was the old Mackinaw that was white; I'm pretty sure that the new one always has been red.

All the way up to 13 degrees here in Mohawk with a wind chill of -5, thought that maybe I was looking at the wrong month on the calendar.

Hi. Deb, I am thinking about buying some silk daffodils, tulips, and crocuses to put in my yard "to encourage" the real ones to come up a lot sooner, LOL. If they don't encourage the real ones, at least they will provide some color. I don't remember a winter since we have lived in Michigan (34 years), that we did not have a January thaw until this year.

Uh oh, I was right, Dave. I did a check back to March 22, 2009, and Charlie wrote that the shot was taken "...before the name 'pasty.com' came into being, back in the mid-90's".
The color wasn't change until the latter part of 1990. I'm a serious 'boatnerder'.:>
I didn't think the lines of the ship in the photo fit the new Mackinaw 2.
So, I guess my eyes are okay after all.;)

That should read "the color wasn't changed until the latter part of the 1990s".

You are correct; the photo is of the old Mackinaw which is white. The newer one is red.
