This summer Michigan Tech University will celebrate the 60th anniversary of receiving the Sawmill and Village of Alberta, as a gift from the Ford Motor Company. It wasn't known as "Michigan Tech" back in 1954, but instead the "Michigan College of Mining and Technology" as seen on the sign from the 50's if you look closely. Our thanks to Baraga County Historical Society and Clyde Elmblad for the top 2 photos, and Ashley Hamann for sharing her project at another great U.P. University.
Henry Ford is the subject of today's "Day in History" In case you've browsed these pages for some time, and haven't been able to see the feature (because of no "flash", such as iPads), we have been publishing it each morning on Pasty Central's Facebook page in video format. And you don't even have to have a Facebook account.
Heard this morning that the last surviving grandson of Henry Ford ~ Henry Clay Ford just passed away. The end of another era.

Correct me if I am wrong but in the top picture of the "Ford Forestry Center", I think the car is a Plymouth.
