Paul Oesterle of Webberville, frequently wrote on pasty cam. I received an e-mail from his wife Cora on the 19th saying that he had passed away the day before. His funeral was on Saturday the 22nd. I thought perhaps you would be interested in knowing this. He was one great guy and is really going to be missed by a ton of people.

I was so sad to see Paul Oesterle passed away. What a wonderful guy, though I never met him in person. A short time after my wife passed away, I got an email out of the blue from Paul. It was filled with assurance and comfort. That email is no longer in my computer archive, though I'm sure I printed it out and kept a copy. But here's the text of a brief one he sent some months later:
Hi Dunerat. I think of you often. I hope things are well with you and your children. God's Peace. Paul Oesterle.
So very sorry for your loss, Cora. Paul was an extraordinarily special man.

Remembering a wonderful girl who was only 19 years old and just dropped on her kitchen floor to never wake up. She was somebody that everybody loved and will be sadly missed by her parents, brother and boyfriend. It was just one of the saddest weeks, praying that this beautiful, young girl would survive. But it wasn't meant to be. She had a congenital heart defect that nobody knew about because she was adopted from a Russian orphanage. She and her brother have been given a wonderful life. I pray every day for her parents who love her so deeply.

That is truly tragic, Deb. Such a loss for so many people. It's little consolation to people so close to the time of death, but later they may come to realize that however long or short the time is that we get to share with someone, it is a gift.

I knew you would for sure understand, Kosk. But right now, that mom can hardly get through the day. They're all just devastated! But who isn't when you lose a child, and especially when they haven't even gotten to live yet??
