Melody Provost Holmes sent in these deer photos, taken at the Iron Mountain City Park. It is home to an Albino deer along with a number of bucks and does. Besides the deer, in the winter there are groomed cross country ski trails and a sledding hill. In the summer months, there is a picnic area, tennis courts, walking trails and much more. I had no idea this park existed and in case you didn't either, here are the directions to find it: From US-2, turn west on A Street. The City Park is at the end of A Street in Iron Mountain.

Now, back to the deer herd. Melody captured the albino buck that seems to be almost hidden with the white snow…a natural winter camouflage of sorts. From her remaining photos, it looks like there are a number of bucks in the park and I'm wondering if they will be losing their antlers soon. Of course I'm not a deer expert, but I did notice one in the last photo that has already lost his right side antler, so the others can't be too far behind, right?

Great pictures! I was thinking that about the
antlers just looking at the pictures ~ great
observation, Mary!

Wonderful photos, Melody!
You're right, Mary, that albino blends right into its surroundings ~ almost looks like a snow sculpture.

What wonderful pictures. I so enjoy animal pics .
It is amazing how the deer seem to not be bothered
by the cold. The albino deer is so interesting.

Awesome picture of the albino deer. I love all the pictures of the deer. Deer yards this time this year a must for them.

He is not the biggest buck but he has the advantage for commo on the other guys during this winter.

If all deer were white, I wonder if hunting season would take place in the summer so they could be seen.

My Dad had 14 deer in his backyard downstate the
other day, & one buck was sporting one antler -
looks so silly!
- thanks for the photos; cannot imagine how cold
it is!

Love watching them trying to watch through the deep
snow. Great pictures!
