Nathan Miller and his kite were out recently, snapping some shots from the east side of the Portage Canal, near downtown Houghton. He said the wind that day was steady, which makes it great for kite flying, although it also makes the temperature that much lower, too.
According to Nathan, this aerial photo shoot was his longest trip to date, lasting well over two hours. Part of what made it last so long was that every time he was getting ready to leave, someone would hike out on the ice and chat with him, while he slowly froze into what he described as "a kite ice anchor."
He figured he'd finally had enough and was chilled to the bone, when a group of guys came out onto the ice to go kite skiing on the canal. Nathan said he just had to capture them heading down the Portage, so he worked up enough energy to stay out there a little longer and was rewarded with a photo of one of them sailing along.
Pretty impressive, both the kite flying and the skiing. Thanks for sharing your latest adventure with us all, Nathan! You can show your appreciation, by heading over to Nathan's Facebook page and clicking, "Like": Kite Aerial Photography with Nathan Invincible

That is a great set of pictures. I think it is probably a lot more fun taking them in the summertime though.
