When Barb Bouwkamp sent me this series of snowy roof photos, she mentioned that she didn't think folks that aren't from around here, really know how much snow we get in the Keweenaw. She likened the snow this year to Siberia and looking at these photos that she snapped on a chilly (but sunny) 7° day, I tend to agree with her.
Barb said she noticed how the snow on the roofs was beginning to look like frosting on a cake, so she decided to go for a walk around Laurium with her camera and get some pictures to share with us here on the Pasty Cam. The photos remind me of the gingerbread houses the kids make at Christmas time.
If the sixth photo looks familiar to you, it might be because we featured an almost identical photo back on February 17, 2004. If you look closely, you'll see a few differences though…kind of like those puzzle games where you have to circle the differences in the photos. How many can YOU find? ;->

Love these pics! The one from 2014 has a street sign. I wonder why it didn't in 2004?

Wow! I wonder if at least the porch roofs can hold the snow load for much longer, or if they will begin to collapse?

It looks like the yellow house was also featured in today's slide show...2009.
Mary says: Wow, Alex...good spotting. It is the same yellow house, featured on the same day, back in 2009. You sure pay attention...you get an for today! :-)
